Help me with a list of songs about the struggle, change, family, kindness and simplicity ...?
I have a brother who struggled with addiction for years, he has a daughter and was a constant source of sadness for us and I wanted to put a CD as a message for him to think and know we love him and care.
"Cats in the Cradle"? I think that's the name. It the only one where the father did not spend time with his son and the son grows up and dosn't let dad spend time with his grandchildren because now the son is too busy for dad. I know that your brother has a daughter, then maybe "Butterfly Kisses" would be more appropriate. I used to be an addict, and was confined in jail awaiting trial on drug charges. It was locked, and I listened to my radio and butterfly kisses came. I cried my eyes because I was so involved in the drug scene that I have neglected my duties visits my daughter and missed soooo much of his childhood. My ex moved to Los Angeles and Hawaii away from here I was trapped and could not see my daughter more. My daughter is now 21 years living in the continent and last time, I spent time with her, she was 8. tell your brother to his little girl not to stay "small" for very long! If he continues his addiction before he knows it, his "little" girl has grown up and he missed the best years of his time be able to feed, teach, advise (ie meetings?) and just spending with his daughter in the most formative years of his life. There will always be her daddy, but it will not always his "little girl". Please tell him. It might be like "water falling on ducks back, but maybe, just maybe, he could hear or listen to your average.
