Friendship Bracelet help?

I recently purchased a huge package of embroidery floss for friendship bracelets. I have two questions:

Answer one: I think if you held it down for about 5 seconds AT THE MOST it would be fine

Answer two: You can try this style around the cardboard ring or around other string:
1. Cut some embroidery floss about 25 inches long- you can do about 3-4 different colors. Tie them together.
2. Pick one color to start with. Pull it out from the rest and then make a backwards 4 around the other strings. It should have a little knot in it and then once you repeat it the little knots will spiral.
