can you add fonts to a blank embroidery memory card?
I'm wanting to purchase a blank embroidery memory card for my roommate, but she wants to be able to add fonts to her sewing machine. ive looked around but cant seem to find anything about it. if anyone knows id appreciate the help.
Check the Instruction Manual for the machine's format - it will be .pes, .sew, .hus, .dst (just a few examples). Also the brand and model of the embroidery machine.
A memory card requires a reader/writer unit before it can be used. These are for machine embroidery and not for just any memory card or unit.
If the machine has a direct connect to the PC a memory card and reader/writer unit is not necessary. The designs can be sent from the PC to the EM.
If not, then make sure you are buying the correct format for her embroidery machine and it is the correct brand for the reader/writer unit that she is using the card in.
When a font is downloaded from the Internet, the card is going to be the only way to get the designs/letters/figures to the embroidery machine.
You should get more information before buying a card that you may not be able to exchange or return.
Check the brand and name of the unit the card will be for. The cards are not interchangeable between different brands and sometimes same brands, but different models.

This software is more expensive at sewing/embroidery machine dealers, but with a little knowledge of the product, you may be able to haggle a better price.
