Embroidering with thin metallic thread?
I have an embroidery sewing machine and I am trying to embroider with metallic thread. I have the needles and everything, but it's pulling the bobbin thread up through the fabric. Does anyone have any suggestions for fixing this?
I have a Brother Innovis 1200. I put the tension as low as it can go and slowed down the speed and it's still pulling bobbin thread through.
It would be wonderful if you mention the machine that you have. I have a Janome Memory craft 1001, and have no problems with the metallic thread. I tend to struggle sometimes when the thread breaks with the Janome Memory Craft 300E. The worst that I have experience, which does not work at all with metallic thread, and even with normal thread without feeling that I want to pull my hair out, is with the Smart by Pfaff 300E.
The 2 Janomes I bought second hand, and the Smart by Pfaff was new. I bought it because it can read all embroidery programmes from brother, elna etc. I feel very disappointed.
I know I could not really help, but at least you realise that you are not alone. I will follow this thread to see if somebody has a solution to this problem.
