how do people make monogram molds... ?
i want my mold unique in a script and in chocolate for my wedding cake
I would carve it in plasticine clay and paint the clay with layers of latex rubber to make a flexible mold. If it were deep, I would put a plaster backing on the latex before removing it from the clay. I would then thoroughly wash the latex to remove the oil from the plasticine clay and the ammonia from the latex. Latex will stand up to the heat of melted chocolate as long as you just barely melt it. If you feel uncomfortable with latex, you can look into food grade silicone molding compound which will be more expensive and harder to find.
