How much do Americans spend on their pets at Christmas?
Does anyone have any accurate numbers on how much Americans spend on their pets at Christmas time? I need numbers for my essay, but when I Google nothing really comes up that I need. Thanks a bunch!
Well, I'm not an American I'm Australian, but I spend around $500 all together ( $250 each dog ) at Christmas time, sometimes I go over a little. I have two dogs .
I get them their own stockings and fill them with snacks and then I get them lots of toys and wrap them they actually unwrap them it's so cute, they are both toy freaks lol. Some of the toys from the pet shop are around $20 each so it adds up quickly. As well as toys I get them new collars and a new Xmas outfit lol.
One year I got my older dog a 18ct gold guardian angel charm for her collar with her name engraved on the back, and now I'm going to do the same for the puppy this year.
And on top of all that, I donate $200 to the RSPCA (charity for animals) in their names. $100 each per dog although that is not included in their Xmas gifts that's an extra thing I do every year at Xmas time.
This year I got them both a personalised ornament for the Xmas tree with their photo's inside.
I spend that much because I love my pets and I don't have any kids so I have that extra money to splurge on them 
Although my dogs are very spoiled all year long not just at Xmas time lol
