Can i get a custom Digitized Embroidery and add it to my embroidery machine?

Okae iam a super noob at all of this. I just basically want to get some designs made or digitized but i cant do it myself. So i was going to order some to get done but my questions is- its not really a patch i want to get done but more a design. I want to know is there a machine if any that can add new designs to it....preferably my own custom designs that i will get ordered. I checked the end of the internet and i cant seem to find the answer to this quesion. Thanks in advance. :-)

There are several sites on the Internet that do custom designs. Here is one - http://www.oregonpatchworks.com/OPW/CUSTOM.php

Local embroidery shops also do this, but usually because they will be selling you several copies or garments with the design.

You will need to show ownership of the design, the hoop area (embroidery area of your embroidery machine) and the format of your EM (embroidery machine).

Either business will give you a DVD with the design on it. Load this onto your PC and then transfer the design (in the appropriate format) to the EM.

Some EM use memory cards only, and some use USB ports and a few use floppies and disks.

A local shop may only do .dst format, which can be converted with Pulse Ambassador (free download) to the format your machine requires.

Doing the art and digitizing for machine embroidery requires machine embroidery software and a lot of time to learn. This can take time and can be very expensive.

Search the Internet for free trials for machine embroidery software to see if this will be any easier or less expensive than using the vendors to do the art, digitizing and DVD production.

Another place that does digitizing is http://www.sewforum.com They also have a forum where you can ask questions, review discussions and learn - all free.
